International Shipping
Because of varying customs import laws for different countries, we disabled international shipping on our website and in our Etsy store. However, we recently became aware of shipment forwarding services, which provide international shoppers a U.S. address to enter when ordering our online items. Those items are then forwarded to your address by the shipment forwarding company.
Thus, you would sign up for the shipping service, such as Planet Express, and they will issue you a U.S. address; this is the address you enter when you place your order with us. We then ship your order to that U.S. address, and Planet Express, or whichever shipment forwarding company you use, sends you a notification email.
Next, you are prompted to fill out a customs declaration form online and choose the delivery method to have the package shipped from the U.S. to your country.
These shipment forwarding companies have a list of countries they cannot ship to and a list of prohibited items they will not ship.
Please, double-check these points:
*Does the shipment forwarding company forward shipments to your country?
*Does the shipment forwarding company allow shipment of the items you plan to purchase, as in the swords, knives, daggers, warhammers, axes, morningstars, etc.? (Planet Express will ship our items. Some other shipment forwarding companies will not.)
*Does your country allow import of the items you plan to purchase? (You should make yourself aware of items which are prohibited to import to your country. A few countries do not allow their citizens to own swords or have limitations for how a citizen can legally own a sword, for instance. Archangel Steel is not responsible for items a customer orders illegally, according to their country’s laws.)
We have found that many of our customers have been able to use the term, “collectible art sword” or “collectible art weaponry” when engaging with customs officials. Collectible swords and other collectible weaponry are allowed in numerous countries where weaponry is otherwise not legal to import or own.
You are likely to have to pay taxes or a duty on any items you import. You should contact your local customs office to find out what that entails and to make sure it is legal for you to import a sword or any other item you intend to purchase and have shipped from the U.S. to you.
We do recommend that you add insurance to your shipping through the shipment forwarding company you choose, so that you are protected in the rare case of shipment loss.
(We always add insurance to items we ship, and we typically ship via UPS, but the insurance we add will not cover the shipment after the package is delivered to the address you entered when you placed your order.)
